The U.S. Chemical Safety & Hazard Investigation Board is an independent federal agency charged with investigating industrial chemical accidents. The agency offers a number of safety videos free of charge. The videos have been used for a variety of training activities, including use by a number of fire departments. The agency is also able to supply videos free of charge for use at conferences and for training activities.

The American Association of Poison Control Centers has established voluntary standards for certified poison centers. The primary goal of the certification process is to ensure that all residents of a given geographic area have access to the highest quality of certified poison center services. Certification criteria include poison information services, regional treatment capabilities, data collection capabilities, and professional and public education programs certification criteria.
